India Beat Bangladesh

As the line from Bon Jovi’s song it’s my life says that it’s not for faint hearted so was last night’s match it was not for faint hearted. In this epic encounter India beat Bangladesh by 1 run. It was MS Dhoni’s brilliance and the hara – kiri created by Bangladesh that allowed India to bear Bangladesh by just 1 run.

Man of the match

Bangladesh won an important toss and asked India to bat first. India started well but just when Rohit Sharma was looking to break free he got out and soon shikhar Dhawan also got out.  After both openers were dismissed Virat Kohli and Raina try to build the innings but after a good partnership Kohli got out. Pandya was sent out as pinch hitter but he could only manage 15 runs and the tail never wagged and India could only manage 146 runs.

Between the innings Ashwin mentioned that Bangladesh could come hard at us or they could commit a hara – kiri.  The good thing about Bangladesh was tamim iqbal was fit and was back to open the innings.  What Bangladesh did was both the things they went hard at the start but committed absolute suicide at the end to give India a 1 run victory.

The chase started well and tamim iqbal as expected took Bangladesh to a good start. But then Ashwin came gave the break throughs that India needed but what was good from Bangladesh part was that whosoever came to bat was hitting the ball that always allowed the chase to be in control. But a couple of wickets from raina and Jadeja took Bangladesh on the back foot and they were reduced to 85/5. Bangladesh steered the chase slowly and in the last over they needed 11 runs and it took Dhoni’s brilliance on the latest ball they needed 1 to tie and 2 to win but Dhoni did the run out and India beat Bangladesh in this heart stopping match.  Now India play Australia on Sunday on whosoever wins will qualify for the semis.
