On this weekend every eye was on Eden Gardens Kolkata as everyone waited for this epic clash of India and Pakistan in the world T20. India thrashed Pakistan by 6 wickets and repeated history by winning the 11th consecutive match in the world cup history. They have thrashed Pakistan 6 times in 50 over World Cup and now 5 times in T20 World Cup.
It was raining heavily since morning in Kolkata that made everyone worried, and that led to a delayed start. Amitabh Bacchan sung the National Anthem at the start of the play and it gave goosebumps to a lot of people.
Then the moment came and it was time for the toss and Dhoni won an important toss and elected to field first. Everyone was surprised to look at the pitch as it was turning square and Pakistan started sensibly and scored 28 runs of the first 6 overs of an 18 over match. MS Dhoni gave Suresh raina the ball and it was a brilliant catch from Hardik Pandya that gave India the first wicket. Shahid Afridi came as first change bit could not do much and was dismissed early. It was Shoib mailk and Umar Akmal late hitting that took Pakistan to a score of 118 runs.
It was time for the Indian chase and everyone expected Rohit Sharma to start well as it was his favourite venue but Aamir had other plans and he took Rohit Sharma for the second time. India started building the innings slowly but then the ball was given to Sami and he struck 2 wickets in 2 balls sending Dhawan and Raina and the score was 22 for 3 wickets. Then came Yuvraj Singh to the crease and Kohli and Yuvraj started building the innings again and Kohli was looking in different touch altogether. Now both were set and smashed Shoib mailk for a six and a four and it was mere formality now to win the match. When everything was looking good Yuvraj got out but then came the captain and Kohli completed his amazing half century to get India past Pakistan total in 15.5 overs. India won the match by 6 wickets and registered there 5 consecutive win in T20 World Cup over Pakistan.
